I grew up in Logan County and graduated from Benjamin Logan High School in 1974. After living in Athens and Toledo to attend college, I returned to Bellefontaine, where I was a sports editor at The Bellefontaine Examiner for two years, then taught English at Bellefontaine High School 14 years.
After living a total of 10 years in Columbus Grove and Springfield as a principal, I returned back to the area in 2016. My wife and I are working on our fifth historic home renovation. Upon retirement in 2013, I sold motorcycles, pole barns and worked as a job employment services director with Ohio Means Jobs.
Currently, I reside in West Liberty with my wife Lisa and three teenagers, a sophomore, junior and senior at West Liberty-Salem High School.
My father taught Industrial Arts at Riverside High School for 25 years, where he introduced me to many people. My father, Andrew, became well-known for his volunteer service at the Logan County Fairgrounds.
